Assistant Network Engineer

Routers, networks, wireless technology, VOIP are the keys here

Description:

The Network Technician will be responsible for the day to day operation of the network infrastructure. He/she will assist the network engineers in several areas including: troubleshooting, network maintenance, including installation & de-installation of network hardware & cabling, troubleshooting various network problems and impairments, as well as light involvement with host systems & operating systems.

Requirements:

• Good knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals
• Understanding of dynamic routing protocols a plus
• Understanding of Wireless technologies (802.11, 802.1X) a plus
• Moderate to detailed understanding of VoIP protocols (RTP, SIGTRAN, SIP, MGCP) and associated voice technology
• Must have thorough and detailed understanding of Ethernet switching and related layer-2 equipment
• Understanding and proficiency in the use of common traffic capturing software (Wireshark, tcpdump, tethereal) a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 9x/Me/NT/XP/2003/2007 operating systems
• Network certifications (such as CCNA) is preferred, not required
