Will area companies be late for their own meetings?

February 17, 2007

Madison, Wis.– With new technology tools and platforms launching almost daily and many IT experts saying wait to implement. Many area companies are waiting to upgrade their systems, and thus are hesitant to spend on maintenance issues today. Many companies are even unaware of the this year’s early start of day light savings time of March 11th and the possible effects on their computer and network systems with the time change.

A new federal law will be implemented this spring extending Day Light Savings Time (DST). The Energy Policy Act of 2005 mandates that DST will start on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November. In 2007, the start and stop dates will be March 11 and November 4, respectively.

Madison technology firm, 5Nines Data LLC, has taken a proactive approach on possible effects of the day light savings time change to its customers. It began notifying customers in the beginning of February of possible effects. It has also begun working directly with each customer site to ensure that all systems are updated to prevent any scheduling problems or more serious fall-outs.

“Our customers require a solid and secure technology environment to perform their work and to deliver products and services to their customers,“ says Todd Streicher, President of 5Nines Data. “Our customers rely on us as the IT knowledge experts and their business partner to ensure they’re maximizing their productivity via technology. Our years of industry experience and customer focused methodology ensure that we don’t let them down.”
